I’m so excited that you’re back! I’m most excited to read your posts and journal excerpts and think you’ll appreciate the February prompts.
Here are my responses to the January prompts.
Journal Prompts | JANUARY
1 | What is it that you absolutely, without a doubt, believe is true?
Without a doubt, I absolutely believe that God can do ANYTHING!
2 | Which goal, resolution, priority or value have you made that will stretch you the most this year?
Of the 8 values I’ve prioritized, the one that will stretch me most this year is the newest one; “to be my best physical self”.
I have the equipment for the things I’d like to be doing. A couple of tennis rackets, a new set of golf clubs, a couple of gloves and balls to go golfing and a Beretta to hit the range and even go shooting sometime on the Texas range (that’s real right?). Rather than huffing and puffing while doing these things and then never going again, I’m having to get fit.
And for the record, looking fit and being fit are two completely different things.
3 | If you were to choose ONE word to focus on this year, what would it be and why?
This one has been pretty clear for me for a few months now even though we’re only a month into the new year. You can read about my one word & the why here.
4 | Take/choose one photo of something that is “just simply beautiful” to you; journal about it.
I snapped this shot earlier this month when I ventured into the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens. I didn’t last as long as I wanted to since I was underdressed with pride about being a recent Wisconsinite. It was chilly. Before leaving though I took a few great shots and this one is my favorite.
When I saw it, I remember thinking about what is happening when we’re not looking. When it seems like things are taking forever and that n-o-t-h-i-n-g is going on. It really is though. Something IS happening. Experiences are serving a purpose and being woven into us, creating meaning and making a lasting impact in our hearts, on our lives.
What we chose isn’t fleeting. It becomes a part of us. We need to be mindful, take our time, wait on the Lord and beware.
5 | What are you looking forward to saying goodbye to in 2016?
I am so ready to leave “over thinking” behind this year.
Having learned from a trusted mentor that making decisions includes three important components (reading & heeding the Word, listening to & obeying the Holy Spirit and seeking wise counsel) and now knowing that it works, want to put my concerns before God in prayer and leave the extra imagery – and stress – out of it.
Goodbye excessive thinking…
Journal Prompts | FEBRUARY
1 | “You change your life by changing your heart. ” | Experiencing the Heart of Jesus 109p
What does that mean? Are there changes that need to take place in your heart?
2 | What is/are your love languages? (Take a quiz here.) How does this show up in your life?
3 | How do you feel about Valentine’s Day?
4 | How well are you loving the people in your life?
5 | What broken pieces of your heart need healing so that you can live more freely?
Go to your journal and write your heart. Write freely and honestly, have fun with it and most importantly keep it real.
Being a Part of the Linkup Community.
Revisit your writing, re-read it and then write a post on your own blog (or leave your thoughts in the comment section) to share on the next month’s linkup. You are free to share as much or as little as you like, but I really encourage you to share something; vulnerability connects us.
The only expectations for posting in the linkup community are that…
1 | your link is to your related post, NOT your homepage or unrelated topics (these will be deleted from the linkup)
2 | you will have only 7 days to linkup before the window closes
3 | that you will read and comment on the blogger’s post who linked up just before you (and all the other ones you have time for). In an effort to build community and connect – it is expected that you take a few minutes to ‘share the love’ with others who are journaling through this experience alongside you
Now go ahead and add your link to the community (directions here; linkup button below)! I’m so very excited to read your heart and will see you back here in March.
